You have to admire the unconditional optimism that flows through Mark Cuban
when it comes to his Mavericks.

Before they took the court against the Blazers on Tuesday night, I got a
chance to ask him if this team still has a chance to be special – as in
championship special – without Caron Butler.

"Yeah, absolutely," Cuban said. "We're a much better team with Caron,
obviously, but we're still a better team than we were last year, even without
Caron.

"And other than the Spurs, it's not like the other teams aren't having their
issues, too."

The Mavericks are not going to go into panic mode and start beating the trade
bushes to find someone who can fill in for Butler. Patience is the best
course of action in this situation. Trying to make something happen –
trading for one of the usual suspects like Andre Iguodala or Stephen Jackson
– isn't going to solve anything.

Deals done out of desperation almost never work.

So what Cuban is saying is right. Even if the rest of us have a hard time
believing it like he does.

The Mavericks have to give themselves time to prove they are still a
high-quality team without Butler. If they can, you might be surprised what
options open up to them before the trading deadline rolls around.

小牛並沒有過於恐慌，並且開始去透過交易，去找個人來填補Caron Butler， 有耐
心是現在最好的做法。嘗試讓一些事情發生，像是猜想著交易來 Andre Iguodala或
是Stephen Jackson是無濟於事的。

要給小牛時間去證明他們在少了Caron Butler仍然是支高等級的球隊。

在和Brendan Haywood簽了爛約後，現在Caron Butler也整季報銷了。
Josh Howard的怨念來了。(誤)

其實季初Caron Butler也缺席過3場比賽，但是當時他狀況沒這次受傷前好。他本季
在打了13場才出現第一場得分超過20(共5次)，近7場(受傷這場沒算)比賽就有4場得
分超過20分。

近七場平均19.8分，投籃命中率0.473，三分球命中率0.454。
本 季平均15.0分，投籃命中率0.450，三分球命中率0.431。
頭12場平均12.6分，投籃命中率0.386，三分球命中率0.312。


只看"對一場比賽內容"的影響(當然整季報銷影響很大)， 他這次受傷的影響力真的
和上次不可比擬。

他受傷還是有Marion可以頂上來，11月11號對灰熊他有20分7籃板的表現( 不過對黃
蜂是5分6籃板...)。這段期間，我想要觀察的就是Marion能否頂上這個位置吧。

小牛不幸中的大幸是Caron Butler受傷是在這個時間點， 如果是交易截止日前幾天
或是交易截止日過去了，那才慘。一切就等Dirk回來，用現有陣容去打打看， 畢竟
離交易截止日還有5個禮拜左右，觀察是不是能維持和之前差不多的戰績，如果不行
，球隊也太不太可能惦惦的什麼都沒發生， 那等於是坐以待斃。

至於交易Caron Butler，個人覺得是不太可能。一支渴望奪冠的球隊， 在主力受傷
後馬上把他交易掉，你覺得球員會怎麼想?是消耗品嗎?沒利用價值了就丟掉?如果有
交易一定會動到其他球員吧。

除非還有一個可能性，就是交易後買斷再回來。這招小牛之前也用過，像Alen Hend
-erson，還有牛排屋，不過牛排屋因為走漏風聲而告吹。(聯盟規定上可否用在Caron
Butler身上我就不知了，提出來大家討論)

所以，現在回頭再去看看Cuban說的話，你就知道為什麼他會這樣說了。
